Popular Conversions

What we get asked for most.

Pickleball's growth has changed what people want out of their courts. Here are the conversions we do most often.

Tennis to pickleball conversion
Most Popular

Tennis → Tennis + Pickleball

Add 2 or 4 pickleball courts to your existing tennis surface using overlay striping in a contrasting color. Tennis play stays unchanged, pickleball nets go up and down as needed.

  • · 2 pickleball courts fit on one tennis court
  • · 4 courts possible with sideways layout
  • · Dual-color line system for clarity
  • · Portable net systems included
Basketball and pickleball combo

Basketball + Pickleball Combo

A half-court basketball setup is the perfect footprint for a pickleball court. Stripe both layouts on one slab and swap between them with portable pickleball nets.

  • · Half-court basketball + 1 pickleball court
  • · Single shared slab footprint
  • · In-ground or portable basketball hoop
  • · Roll-away pickleball net
Game court multi-sport

Full Game Court

A custom backyard court designed for the whole family — basketball, pickleball, kid stuff (4-square, hopscotch), and party space. Sized to your yard.

  • · Custom dimensions to fit your yard
  • · Multi-sport line layout
  • · Kid-friendly games included
  • · Optional rebounder walls
Driveway court conversion

Driveway / Slab Conversion

Already have a flat concrete slab or wide driveway? We can surface and stripe it as a usable sport court — usually pickleball or half-court basketball. Affordable way to get into a court without a new build.

  • · Surface prep and acrylic coating
  • · Pickleball or basketball striping
  • · Portable net systems
  • · Lowest-cost path to a backyard court

Line Layouts

See how the lines work.

Multi-sport courts use a second color for the secondary sport's lines, so play stays clear. Here's what each layout looks like.

Tennis + 2 Pickleball

Standard overlay. Tennis lines in white, pickleball in blue. Two pickleball games fit comfortably on one tennis court.

Basketball + Pickleball

Half-court basketball in white, pickleball in blue. The same slab handles both — swap with a portable net.

Full Game Court

Basketball, pickleball, and bonus games (4-square shown in yellow) all on one custom-sized slab.

How It Works

From tennis court to multi-sport.

A conversion is usually faster and cheaper than a full resurface — but if your court needs both, we'll combine the work.

Existing tennis court before conversion

Step 1

Assess & Design

We check the existing surface, measure the playable area, and design a line layout that works for every sport you want. We'll show you the plan before any paint hits the court.

Step 2

Prep the Surface

Pressure wash, fix any cracks or low spots, and prime the areas that will receive new lines. If the surface needs a recoat, we'll handle that too — fresh paint takes line color much better than weathered acrylic.

Step 3

Stripe the New Lines

Lines are taped, painted, and pulled to USTA, USA Pickleball, or NBA spec. We use a contrasting color for the secondary sport so play stays clear and confusion-free.

Step 4

Add the Equipment

Portable pickleball nets, posts, in-ground hoops — whatever your layout needs. We install everything and walk you through how to set up each sport.

What It Costs

Affordable upgrades.

Adding lines to an existing surface is one of the most affordable ways to get more out of your court.

Line Overlay Only

$1.5K – $3K

Striping on existing surface

Adds pickleball lines to a tennis court, or basketball lines to a flat slab. Surface must be in good shape.

Resurface + Conversion

$6K – $15K

Best value combo

Full resurface plus multi-sport line layout. The smart move when your court needs a recoat anyway.

Equipment Add-Ons

$500 – $5K

Nets, posts, hoops

Portable pickleball nets are ~$500. In-ground basketball hoops run $2K-$5K installed. Mix and match what you need.

Final pricing depends on court size, condition, and how many sports you're layering. Your written quote will spell it all out.

FAQ

Conversion questions.

Will the extra lines be confusing during play? +

In our experience, no. We use a contrasting line color (typically blue for pickleball over a green/red tennis court). After a game or two, players don't even notice the extra lines. Most tennis clubs that added pickleball have made this work for years.

Do I need a permanent or portable pickleball net? +

If pickleball is shared with tennis, portable nets are the way to go — they roll on and off in seconds and don't interfere with tennis play. Permanent posts only make sense if you're dedicating the court to pickleball.

How many pickleball courts fit on a tennis court? +

Two pickleball courts fit comfortably in the standard "blended" layout. With a sideways layout, you can fit four — but the run-off space gets tight. Most people go with two.

Can you convert just a driveway or patio? +

If it's flat, drains well, and has enough space, yes. We'll come look and tell you if the surface is suitable. A wide driveway is often a great pickleball court candidate.

How long does a conversion take? +

Line overlay only: 1-2 days. Resurface plus conversion: 5-7 days. Both jobs need a few days of court-off-limits time for the paint to cure properly.
