Backyard Basketball Court Construction in NW Washington
A real court,
right in your backyard.
Half-court and full-court basketball builds across Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, Island, and San Juan Counties — a proper slab, an acrylic sport surface, crisp lines, and an in-ground hoop set to last.
Sizes
Pick your footprint.
Most backyards go half-court. If you have the room, a full court opens up real games.
Most popular
Half-court
About 47' × 50'
Key, free-throw line, and three-point arc. Plenty for serious shooting and 2-on-2 without taking over the yard.
Compact
Key & shooting pad
Sized to your yard
Smaller pads for tighter lots — a key and partial arc on a slab sized to what fits.
Go big
Full court
Up to 50' × 94'
Two hoops and full lines. Often built with blended pickleball or tennis lines to get more out of the slab.
What's Included
Built like a court, not a patio.
The difference between a basketball court and a driveway is the base, the surface, and the details.

Common questions about basketball courts
How much does a backyard basketball court cost?
A residential half-court on an easy, level site runs about $42,000 to $62,000 with an acrylic sport surface, depending on reinforced versus post-tensioned concrete; asphalt starts around $37,000. A full court runs about $66,000 to $97,000. Budget roughly $4,500 per in-ground hoop installed, plus fencing or lighting if you want them.
How big is a half-court?
A typical backyard half-court is about 47 by 50 feet. A full high-school court is 50 by 84 and a full NBA-size court is 50 by 94. We size the pad to your yard; smaller key-and-three-point layouts are common.
Why put an acrylic surface on a concrete slab?
Bare broom-finished concrete works, but acrylic gives you consistent grip, color, and crisp lines, and it protects the slab from water and UV. It is also what lets a basketball pad double as a pickleball court.
Can a basketball court also be a pickleball court?
Yes. Most half-courts have room for a pickleball layout in a contrasting line color, with a portable net. Plan for it before surfacing so the lines go down together.
What hoop should I get?
An in-ground system set in a concrete footing is the right match for a permanent court. We install the hoop you choose, or help you pick one sized to the players and the pad.
How long does it take?
About two to three weeks of build time once work starts, with acrylic surfacing done in the dry season, roughly late spring through early fall.
