Careers at North West Sport Courts
Build courts people play on
for decades.
We are a small Lynden-based crew building and resurfacing pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts across Northwest Washington. We are hiring people who care about getting the details right.
Why Work Here
Skilled work you can see.
Court surfacing is precise, physical, outdoor work. Every court we finish is something a family, school, or club uses every day, and the quality shows for years.
The work
A real trade
Surface prep, acrylic coatings, and line layout to regulation dimensions. These are skills few people in the region have, and we teach them.
The crew
Small and local
Based in Lynden. You work directly with the owner and crew lead, not a faceless company.
The standard
Done right the first time
We would rather take an extra hour than leave a line crooked. If that sounds like you, you will fit in.
Open Position
Sport Court Laborer
We are looking for a laborer who is highly attentive to detail to join our court crew. You will help prepare, surface, and stripe pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts from start to finish. On our work, small mistakes show: a wavy line, a thin spot in a coat, a fingerprint in wet paint. We need someone who catches those before the customer does.
What you will do
- ✓Prep job sites: clearing, pressure washing, and cleaning court surfaces before any coating goes down
- ✓Fill cracks and level low spots under the direction of the crew lead
- ✓Mix and apply acrylic resurfacer and color coats by squeegee, keeping coverage even across the whole court
- ✓Measure, snap, and tape lines to USTA and USA Pickleball dimensions, then paint them cleanly
- ✓Help set net posts, sleeves, and fencing hardware
- ✓Load, unload, and move materials, including 5-gallon pails and heavier drums with equipment
- ✓Keep tools and equipment clean and the job site tidy at the end of every day
What we are looking for
- ✓Attention to detail. You notice a line that is a quarter inch off, a missed spot in a coat, or tape that is starting to lift, and you fix it before anyone has to ask
- ✓You take pride in work that looks right up close, not just from the parking lot
- ✓Reliable and on time. Weather windows are short, so the crew counts on everyone showing up
- ✓Comfortable working outdoors in sun and heat, on your knees and feet for long days
- ✓Able to lift and carry 50 lbs repeatedly
- ✓Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to our Lynden shop
- ✓Construction, painting, landscaping, or line striping experience is a plus but not required. We will train the right person
What we offer
- ✓Hourly pay based on experience, paid weekly
- ✓Full-time hours through the build season, roughly April through October
- ✓Hands-on training in court surfacing and line layout, a skilled trade with few local specialists
- ✓A small, local crew based in Lynden, working across Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, Island, and San Juan Counties
- ✓Room to grow into a crew lead role as the business expands
Work is outdoors and weather-dependent. Some jobs involve day travel within our five-county service area, including ferry trips to the San Juan Islands. Must be 18 or older.
